Comvita Malaysia, together with our Malaysia distributor, Sun Trader Enterprise, has just ended our corporate social responsibility (CSR) program to help marginalized communities that were impacted by the Covid-19 lockdown in Malaysia. Called ‘Comvita Cares’, it was conceptualised in line with one of our core values, Kaitiakitanga, to help those that need it the most.
We worked with BAC FreeMakan, a food bank initiative by Brickfield Asia College (BAC), that provides dry rations and cooked food to the poor, homeless and unemployed. The program was simple – we would contribute 15% of all online sales done between 25 July to 14 August 2021 via Comvita Malaysia’s official e-commerce platforms. To kickstart the program, we made an initial contribution of RM10,000, and at the end of the program, we managed to contribute an additional RM30,000 for a total of RM40,000(~ NZ$13,800)!
Comvita Malaysia hopes this contribution will help and support BAC Free Makan towards those whose livelihoods were severely affected during these difficult pandemic moments. At Comvita, we act on behalf of future generations and are committed to protect the delicate balance of our ecosystems. It is our belief that social, environmental and economic prosperity are intertwined, and hence we feel strongly in giving back and supporting the communities in need.
Comvita Malaysia donated total of RM40,000 to FreeMakan to help feed the marginalised communities affected.
